A Covid Safe Photoshoot for Mental Health Clinic
Nothing stops the launch of a trailblazing healthcare business - not even Covid.
One of our team’s latest projects has seen us head to the centre of Glasgow, as we marked the arrival of an exciting new clinical brand in mental health.
We’ve been working with Moving Minds since 2019, helping them develop their brand and messaging.
This time, we were delighted to stage a photoshoot at their first Scotland therapy venue.
Here’s the full detail of their story:
HOPE OF HAPPINESS AS SPECIALIST MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC ARRIVES IN GLASGOW
THOUSANDS of adults who have spent years struggling with mental health and depressive episodes, could now get the lifeline they need, as a revolutionary treatment approach arrives in Glasgow’s Charing Cross.
Health Improvement Scotland has issued formal registration to Moving Minds, a clinic which will deliver the revolutionary repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) Therapy.
The new healthcare facility becomes just one of a handful to provide the innovative technique across the United Kingdom. Over a number of sessions, patients receive repeated magnetic pulses, to stimulate activity of the brain cells and to specifically target the area most responsible for mood.
Glasgow’s newest wellbeing practice is being led by consultant psychiatrist Dr Krishna Rohatgi, and mental health specialist practitioner and TMS consultant, Isabel Leming.
Being classed an ‘essential service’, regardless of Covid restrictions, the clinic, in Sandyford Place, is now open Monday to Friday from 8 to 6, and Saturday from 9am until 12 noon.
“It is widely understood how significant the problem of depression, anxiety and mental health issues is among the population right now, so myself and Dr Rohatgi are even more delighted to have been able to achieve our accreditation at this significant time,” said Ms Leming.
“The rTMS therapy concept is still relatively new to many, but it is an outstanding innovation in mental healthcare, which has transformative results, particularly for those who have found themselves to be ‘treatment resistant’.
“Where adults have seen little success with medication or other therapeutic interventions in the past, this can be the breakthrough that they have been waiting for.
“In fact, the research suggests a 60% - 70% response rate in those who have tried other methods of treatment for depression. rTMS can also be used off-label for OCD, PTSD, cocaine and other addictions.”
UK approval for rTMS was achieved in 2015, but five years on, there are still just a handful of clinics and practitioners offering the hugely effective approach to mental health and wellbeing.
Dr Rohatgi said: “As someone with more than 50 years’ experience in psychiatry, integrative healthcare and addiction treatment, I cannot over emphasise how impressive this style of therapy is for those who have seen little success with previous efforts.
“Myself and Isabel are so proud to be able to bring it to the population of Glasgow – especially when the pressures of the pandemic are making life so much more challenging for so many.”
Treatment at the new clinic is being carried out with full PPE, and typically patients will undergo between 10 and 15 sessions – which can be carried out as up to 3 sessions per day for consecutive days.
Assessments are carried out beforehand, via zoom, and the therapy is available at a cost of £200 per session, to anyone over the age of 18. Moving Minds are aware of that COVID-19 has negatively impacted many people in the last few months and are for a limited time, offering rTMS treatment at a 50% discounted rate - £100 per session as a way to support those who are struggling.
Moving Minds is also delivering hypnotherapy, NLP (neurolinguistic programming), and IEMT (integral eye movement therapy) online.
